At Hollister School, our Kindergarten program provides each child time to mature intellectually, physically, socially, and emotionally at his/her own pace and according to his/her own capacity.
Our dynamic Kindergarten team has many years of teaching experience, and is dedicated to helping each child have the best and most fulfilling first year in school possible! We work collaboratively to create an enriching academic program, and to integrate challenging academics with what every young child needs—creative opportunities and a positive learning community.
Learning experiences and instruction are designed to address each child’s developmental needs, abilities, and strengths and provide a broad foundation for future academic growth. We work on productive work habits, making good choices, and personal responsibility. The Kindergarten program is intended to provide an atmosphere that is responsive to a variety of learning styles, promotes a love of learning, and instills a sense of positive self-worth.
For the children, some of the highlights of our school year are… visiting the pumpkin patch, our Kindergarten Holiday Sing, celebrating the 100th day of school, celebrating Dr. Seuss’ birthday, observing caterpillars change into butterflies, visiting the UCSB Marine Lab, observing tadpoles, and many, many more!
We look forward to getting to know the children each year, and helping them to love school! Welcome to Kindergarten!
